 Reuse slip fix coupling?
Author: sum (FL)

After the tenting of my house was completed, I found about eight sprinkler heads being broken by the crew.

Some of those I can unthread the broken risers from the tees and replace with new risers.

Some of those the risers were broken off flushed with the tees and even with an extractor I managed to mutilate the tees badly to the point I had to replace them.

So this one I dug the tee up and found that I had previously (may be 2-3 years ago) fixed something that required a slip fix coupling.

Now with the slip fix there, could I cut the slip fix where indicated in the picture, and put in a new coupling + tee? Would the slip fix pipe still slide easily?

It will slide easily, but you will probably have to splice a piece in because it will not slide far enough to fill the gap.
