Ongoing issues with plumbing.... it started with sediment, then no water pressure, then rattling in check valve, and now sediment again....
About four years ago I had the well pump replaced and it was discovered there was some corrosion to the pipe that dropped down into the well also. I had those replaced and water pressure returned. This took care of most of the sediment issues we had.
About three years ago, I had the water pressure tank replaced and ever since there has been a rattle when the water pressure tank would turn on. It just kept getting louder through the years.
Yesterday I had a plumber come out and he told me the rattle was in the check valve. He stated we did not need the check valve because there would be one placed on the pipe in the well. He removed the check valve that was right next to the water pressure tank. Fixed the rattling. Now we are getting sediment in the water again??
Did we need that check valve? Why are we getting sediment again? Was this just in the pipe before the check valve location from collecting when we still had a sediment issue and is now just washing through? Should I wait a few days or week to see if this gets better?

A check valve is normally not needed at the pressure tank. There is at least one in the well. The sediment is likely from the pressure tank, which was probably drained during the work. It should clear up in a few days.

Thank you. I feel better knowing it should clear up. I'll just watch for improvement.
