I have a standalone shower. Both retainers holding the cover to the drain are broken. It appears that this drain is screwed in from the top. There are two detents on the inside. Can I change this drain from the top? If so, what size information/nomenclature do I search for?

this shows the 2 types of plastic shower drains. it does appear that you have the 102 or some other brand similar to it. your photo makes it hard to tell for 100% sure.
be careful removing it as there is nothing holding the bottom except that it is glued to a pipe below. you can twist it too hard and break something below.
getting a new top may be a challenge as they are not all the same.

It would be a very RARE one that you could do that with.

All the shower drains I use install from the top. There's square notches in the interior perimeter for the supplied "wrench" to sit into to tighten.
Unfortunately yours is not one of them. It will have to be accesses from underneath.
