 back to back bathrooms
Author: TONY W (NY)

I added a 2nd bathroom to our shop I'm not a plumber I know just enough to be dangerous. The existing bathroom has always worked fine . I built the new bathroom back to back with the old one . The toilets are back to back also . There is aprx 2ft apart .on the same 4" line the vent is between them the old toilet I would call upstream from vent the new one is after the vent but only 12"or less from it .after using the toilets a few times both toilets seem to air lock. If you stop using them both for aprx 1 hr or so they will be OK .I stopped using the new one for a week and didn't have any problems with the old one .I'm hoping to come up with a solution without getting in to the concrete floor .please help

the vent is not your problem. possibly debris in the pipe?

WE would have to see HOW you connected the two toilets but it appears to be a problem with the drain line, rather than the vent.
