I have a dripping hose bib on the side of my house that needs replacing. I don't want to cut off the old one just replace the bib. Where the bib connects to the part that is soldered to the wall it is a different thread and Home depot and granger don't carry that thread. The house is only 6 years old where can I find the piece needed ? Please help if you can.

If the bib has pipe threads, it should be either ½" or ¾". Does it have a compression connection?

It seems to be 1/2 inch but the threads aren't the same as the other 1/2 bibs at home depot. It doesn't have a compression connection.

There is only ONE 1/2" thread so you, and HD, must be looking at something else.

OP,
You have disassembled the bib itself.
You are looking at proprietary threads INTEGRAL to the bib itself.
Either:
find the EXACT same bib and 'cannibalize'
or
remove the ENTIRE bib and replace (from your description that would involve unsoldering, in which case a male adapter is recommended so next time it merely unscrews).
