 Using Pump for drain
Author: Senatordan39 (CA)

I am going to plumb a sink in a room that has no plumbing. Plumbing the supply will not be an issue, however, there is no drain anywhere near the side of the house. I was going to use a sump pump to pump it up 8ft to the attic and back down a wall and tie in to the lateral drain from the tub. Do I need to put a vent in the line in the attic or should I run the pipe continuous from the sump into the lateral? TIA

use a laundry sink pump. vent the pump tank and vent the sink. no vent needed in the attic.
tie into the tub drain downstream of its vent. be aware that you may get some backing up into the tub.

Not too concerned about backing up, will only be a gallon or so every few hours. It is for my wifes wash basin for doing hair for her clients. I am guessing wet venting is not advised in this situation using the tubs vent stack?
