Hi folks,
I'm trying to find a replacement part for my bathroom sink handle, but so far two plumbing supply stores have told me it's an adapter that goes on the stem that they don't carry.
I'll try to figure out how to get a picture loaded later today, but I'm hoping someone can show me where this part is online so I don't have to buy a whole new handle ass'y just because of a ten-cent part.
The part in question goes over the stem, so inside it's a round hole with one flat side that allows it to turn the stem. The exterior is a hex nut that the metal faucet handle slips over. There is a circular lip atop the nut, and of course a hole in the middle for the screw to hold the whole thing down.
It's about a half-inch hex nut on the outside, and also about a half-inch tall.
If that's unclear, I'll get my son to help me upload an image. In the meantime, we're stuck with just hot water in the bathroom sink.
Thanks, folks.
Bob

Send us a picture of your faucet, faucet handle and adapter. The only company, I remember that used adapters as OEM was Crane Plumbing.

Delta used something similar , although the adapter usually stays in the handle.

Most adapters for "fit all" handles are specific to the handle and are usually not sold separately, Unless it is one that uses specific adapters for each make and model of faucet.

Ace Hardware sells a similar faucet (google "Ace 4309142", but current model is all chrome and plastic stem. Kingston Brass has a similar faucet with oak handles, but the bell is curved and not barreled like yours("Kingston brass GKB601B". Maybe a start? The D stems are not as common as a broached, so that cuts down the field of faucets.

what you have is a faucet made by delta and sold to some other company. the other company adds the plastic adapters and their own handles. so i wouldn't be supprised if you delta parts (handles, stems etc) couldn't be interchanged.

Other than the "D" stem, it looks NOTHING like a Delta faucet. I looks like something Home Depot sold as a package.

So no dice on getting a new plastic adapter or a new handle then? I'd have to buy a whole new kit?

I'm pretty sure a Delta handle will fit.

It will probably "fit" but unless the stem has a stop built in to it, the handle will just rotate 360 degrees.
