 Help Please! Fitchen Faucet Choice
Author: newbiegirl (CA)

Hi there all you "in-the-know" familiar with kitchen faucets. My faucet has been leaking for awhile now. I have been saving up to buy a new one. Problem: every faucet I've looked at seems to have equally high and low reviews (leaks, cartridge replace, temp extremes). I used to think moen and kohler were the "Best" but I guess that cannot be assumed. Who does make the most reliable products? Are there any that are steel as opposed to all this plastic I'm hearing about? Presently I have a no name single handle, one hole, supposedly pull-out spout (but it's Very short). Cost? Less would be nice - but - I would rather spend more and not be replacing it in 6mo,2yrs,etc; That ends up costing more in time, money, and stress. So, cost is not the Priority. Doing it RIGHT the first time is. Thank you in advance for your help! ps I would've attached photos but I don't have a website and there's no "choose image"

You have provided so much information without telling us anything. What brand and model of faucet do you have. Can you provide a picture of it so we can get an idea of what you are looking for. Today considering imports and American Made, there are 1000's of possible faucets with finishes and functions.

Best Wishes

You do need to stay with a name brand faucet, Delta is my first choice, Moen, Kohler, and Price Pfister are popular as well. You can share a link to a picture on Photobucket for us to see if you like.

The LAST thing you would want is a "steel faucet". Even brass is getting rare because of the anti-lead regulations. What I, or any other plumber, would recommend might NOT be what you are looking for.

As I said, it's no name - literally no name. And I tried to post photos but the only option for doing so was to post a url orwebsite address. I do not have a website.I only have jpeg photos that I could send to an email or post on fb I suppose. I'll try to find something that looks like it on hd and post that. The bigger question is - who makes the quality products these days?
Thanks!

Thank you! I've never used photobucket but I will check it out right now. My kids call me a technotard as politically incorrect as that sounds, it sums it up pretty well!

find an actual plumbing supply house

Lots of companies do, but FEW put their names on the faucets.
