Sink moving requiring 2 additional 1/4 bends
Author: J_Buchanan (VA)

Hello, this is my first time here.

I am currently moving my sink. Instead of moving it left or like most posts, I am pushing the sink wall back about 25 inches. Currently the 2 inch sink drain ties into the 5 inch stack drain with a 2 inchdry vent. This move will require me to snake around an obstruction.

To avoid the obstruction I will need to put two additional 1/4 bend horizontally in the drain. In other words, left out the back of the cabinet which is normal. About a 12 inch run to a 90 degree turn left, then about a 24 inch run to another 90 degree turn to the left to tie into the original line with the vent.

The total run is about 4.5 feet of 2 inch pipe. Assuming I can keep the pitch, I add clean outs before each bend, will this be ok?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if additional info is needed.

Thanks.

you should put a full size cleanout under the sink and make the turns with long sweep 90's. should be fine...
don't exceed the distance from the trap to the vent. my code says 2 inch pipe can have 6 feet developed length between them.

Long sweep 90's will work, or two 45 bends with a short piece of pipe between them. It's usually less expensive to buy two 45's than one long sweep 90.
