I found my well water pressure relief valve leaking, some help please. Do they wear out? I also found that the pressure indicator valve is stuck at 45 psi, but when tested the pressure rose and fell from 48 to 30, switching the pump on & off as it should. Is the stuck meter and the leaking valve related, should I change both and should I see if the 4" nipple holding the switch is clogged and can I clean it or do I have to replace that, too? I know, lots of questions but I never did anything with my well before. Oh, everything was put in new in 2009. Thanks!

Yes, pressure relief valves go bad from time to time. They are inexpensive so the best thing to do is just replace it. Same with the gauge, if you buy a liquid filled gauge it will last a bit longer. The nipple should be of brass, if it is it should be ok, if not just replace it while you're working with the other items.

Thanks NC Plumber, I so appreciate the help. I had already priced out the parts, but I didn't want to replace the wrong things and mess it up even more. It's nice to know that I can get this kind of information from professionals like yourself. Thanks again!
