Not that I'm a dishwasher repairman, but there appears to be check valves used in them, and this might be the source of your problem. I've used a site named PartSelect.com before. You enter the model number and they'll tell you the most likely cause of your problem. They will also tell you how to replace any bad parts.

That happened to me last year. Water not draining from dishwasher.
Turned out I forgot about a "permanent" check valve I replaced the garbage disposer but forgot to knock out the hole where the dishwasher connected.

My husband just replace our garbage disposal...I wonder if this is related. Did your water overflow? Or just some in the bottom when when the cycle is done. Thanks

no overflow, just like 4" in the bottom of the dishwasher.
There is a plastic KO at the bottom of the disposer DW connection. If he installed a disposer and didn't poke that KO open, that may be it.
