 Miobile Home Shower/Tub valve install

A friend has an older mobile home with Avocado color Cast Iron Tub installed in it. Is this likely to be copper or PEX piping? I go see it tomorrow and have done little plumbing repairs in Mobile Homes. As I recall, the walls in Mobile homes are Panel walls with thin walls, i.e. not 3 5/8" studs like older homes in California. Looking for advice and are the fixtures normally designed for Mobile Homes?

Depends on the age of the mobile home, but I'd expect polybutylene . Walls are usually 1 1/2" thick. It usually requires a 1 piece tub + shower faucet with the spout built into the actual faucet. Connections are usually a compression nut + cone washer X crimp 90. Faucets usually have plastic shank nuts securing it to the wall.
If the water's off and the access panel is removed it's about a 5 minute job to replace the faucet.

NCPlumber, I suspect the age is approx. 1960 vintage. Poly Butelane pipe is different from the newer PEX systems, right? Will I have difficulty finding parts for this system. They currently have an Avocado colored tub, I am going to see it tomorrow. With 1 1/2" wall thickness, they must have special faucets and valves for these walls, I am thinking. Thanks for the info.

Mobile Homes are in a breed of their own regarding plumbing, unless the building has been altered over the years. Plumbing was plastic for weight control. There is a very slim chance, to none that you will see Moen/Delta/Price Phister for a tub/shower valley. Much depends on where the mobile was built.

Best Wishes

I'd place Advocado in the 60's. Around here, the typical plumbing system in a mobile home during that era would have been 3/8" flared soft copper tube run off a manifold usually located near the center of the house.

I have also seen coaches with ABS water lines. You almost have to go by the pipe's color if there are no markings visible.
