Author: hanks (FL) RE: Garbage Disposal installation: (I live in a Condo where I can not lower or raise the outward drainpipe) the center of the drain pipe at the back of the cabinet, from the bottom of the SINK is 6 1/2". I have found an Insinkerator Compact where the drain center is 6 inches from the bottom of the sink. Once the P trap is installed will the disposal function and drain properly?

Author: packy (MA) as long as the disposer outlet is higher than the pipe sticking out of the wall, you should be fine. might have to find a disposer ell that has a short turn to it...
