Hi, 16 years ago I put in concrete radiant floors with pex tubing. It supposedly had a 25 year guarantee, the tube has developed small cracks and pin holes and I am not sure what to do. There was a class action in Washington State and Canada that was won, but being in California, I can't jump in on it. Any suggestions? My plumber hasn't been very responsive in this matter.

Farmerpattie, let me say that there have been problems with copper and entran rubber hose when buried for radiant heat.
to my knowledge those along with pex are the options for pipe to bury.
so, burying copper for radiant will eventually result in a failure.
burying entran radiant hose will eventually result in a failure
in my opinion, pex made specifically for radiant is the best option.

Thanks for your reply, but it still doesn't tell me what to do at this point. We have had to turn off all radiant lines and are heating with wood.

Do you know which manufacturer made the pex installed in your floors?

the guarantee was from the manufacturer, NOT your installer, so you have to contact them.

AND

the guarantee was for material ONLY

should you decide to chop up your floor they will issue a PRORATED (based on 25 year) refund
