Here's my story. I ordered a washer and dryer. The delivery guys came to install and asked where my drain hole was located. I was like what is that. Long story short during a remodeling we believe it was covered up. I am renting and cannot install a drain hole. Is there anything else I can do, other than going to get my money back? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

my code requires laundry facilities in a dwelling. check to see if yours does. if yes, then the landlord must comply...

WE cannot possibly tell you WHERE the "drain hole" is, because there are too many possibilities, but if you have hot and cold water valves for the washer, it should be close to them.

Do you know of another way to drain the washer, other than the drain hole? I know it is covered and I can't get access.

Your drain is covered and you rent ? If so the problem can be resolved quite easily..... but it will cost you more than your washing machine.
One of our profound advisers here years ago REDWOOD, used to proclaim, "With Money, you can achieve anything , in plumbing"
With Money, you can hire dozens of people with buckets to remove the discharge from your new washing machine.
with Money, you can install a sink, a drain to a pump up device that will pump discharged waters to the outdoors or into an open drain on another floor.
with Money you can move your washer and dryer to another floor.
with Money, you can build a new building that has the proper drain.
with Money, you can drill a new hole in the floor and install the proper drainage.
As you can see, you have many options...... if you have the money.
If you don't, you may have to return both, because you may have covered the discharge opening for the dryer as well.

First you have to tell us if you have hot and cold valves for the washer. IF so, then a plumber should be able to find the "hole".

as i stated above, MA law requires a laundry hook-up for each apartment.

Both a cold and hot water valve are present. All these events took place Sunday. I'm waiting on a response from the landlord.

The drain would be somewhere near those valves. Exactly where would depend on what kind of "hole" it is.

That would be a MA requirement, but it is not universal. Here, apartment complexes often have a central washing area.

I would not do anything except contact your landlord and ask him/her to hire a plumber to locate and plumb the washing machine drain...assuming the washer dryer hookup is specified in the lease. If its not, then its on the "good will" of the landlord. You can't and shouldn't do this yourself.
The only option I can think of to use the washer without any modification to the rental apartment is to buy a long flex hose, connect one end to the washing machine drain outlet, and run the other end into a close by bath tub. A sink may not be able to drain quick enough.

up to 3 units must have their own facilities. over 3 units a centrally located laundry area is accepted.

down here in South Florida, this is very location specific, each city has different rules.
Usually the rule varies depending on the city, the district it is in, the type of property (single family vs condo vs apartments), how many units and the year the building was put up.

if i plumb a new house and the owners want a mother in law apt in the basement, it must have its own laundry facility.

here in south Florida a mother in law must be a separate structure. They don't tolerate mother in law under a wall or roof.

Here, they do NOT want mother in law units, because they could become "apartments to rent", so any "detached" structure CANNOT have a kitchen unit in it.

so what constitutes a 'kitchen'?
we went thru that here.
according to code you can put a sibk in every room in your house. so a sink does not constitute a kitchen.
lots of people (self included) have an extra refrigerator. so a second fridge does not constitute a kitchen.
how about a stove? well most of our cooking is done with a microwave or outside grill.
so, i ask again. what constitutes a kitchen?
P/S, couple of years ago they gave one of my customers a hard time because he built an addition and one room had the electric outlets placed above countertop height,

A "sink' constitutes a kitchen, even if it is a Dwyer combo unit.

California Building Code definition is - "A room, space or area with equipment for the preparation and cooking of food."
