Hello and thank you for having this forum for amateurs like myself! While cleaning out my laundry room this morning, I noticed what looked like a sewer drain (or drain in general) with a pool of water at the base (see picture). The drain is in my basement of my 2 story, 4bd/3ba home. It has been raining like crazy today so I am not sure if that has something to do with it. Any ideas as to what it is, the severity of the problem, and the course of action?
On the basement floor there is a washer/dryer and water heater. Currently just myself in the home so little use. Thank you in advance for your help.

That's a cleanout, either there is a partial blockage causing the water to back up and leak around the threads, or it's surface water being forced up around the piping. I'd dry it up and seal the threads and the connection directly under it to be sure where the water is coming from.
