Our water heater is on the lower level. There is a half bath just a few feet from it. The master bath and kitchen is on the ground level. We had hot water everywhere until recently. Now we have hot water in the master bath but it's barely warm in the downstairs bathroom and the kitchen sink. What could possibly be the issue here???

with the hot water running barely warm in the downstairs bath and kitchen, open the hot in the sink/s where the water is still hot. is it still hot?
also it could be hot-cold crossing over in the shower valve downstairs ??

No matter how many times I check, it is hot in the main bathroom but not in the kitchen sink or basement 1/2 bath. We changed out the water heater & it did not change.
It is an older house built in 1948. The water is terrible here!! Someone said that the pipes are clogged, but if that was true wouldn't there be very little water pressure in both the hot & cold water at the problem areas?? It does not matter whether I turn on hot or cold, there is good pressure, but no hot water!!
It just does not make any sense to me!! I am getting so frustrated having to heat water to wash dishes!!! :×
