I need to make a connection between a 1/4" OD poly tubing and a 1/4" compression.
The valve and the adapter is existing. There was a 1/4" soft copper tubing that runs from the valve to the poly line from the refrigerator. I got rid of the soft copper line. Instead, I got a 1/4" poly line and cut it to the proper length and on one end, I used a quick connect coupling to connect the new poly line to the plastic line on the fridge.
On the valve end, I reused the nut from the soft copper tubing, but used a compression sleeve insert into the tubing. This:
However, I am not sure this compression insert is for poly or metal tubing. I installed it and it didn't leak, but I am wondering when I tighten the nut whether the metal insert will bite into the tubing too much. Is this OK?

Thanks steve and packy.
I was worried that I used the wrong parts. These inserts come in the small plastic packets by WATTS and the instructions don't say for what type of tubing. I thought there would be different inserts for different tubing materials. So I am OK with this.
Ideally I would like to change out the valve to a new 1/2"X1/4" so I don't need that extra adapter tee, but I will do on the next turn over. The old soft copper coiled was too heavy and it created a kink at the connection to the plastic fridge line.
