Author: m & m (MD) It could be what the builder/homeowner specifies. It could be the prefered method of the plumber. The reasons vary.

Author: RRWA (WA) Cost is a major factor. A manifold system with home runs for all fixtures will cost more in materials compared to a simple trunk and branch system.
