Hi,
I'm in the market for a new garbage disposal. I'm a little green on this topic and where to start. Are all disposals constructed so they fit any sink situation? I currently have a Whirlaway291, my dishwasher is connected to it. Can I buy the disposal in the below link to replace the whirlaway and get the power cord kit and the dishwasher connector?

And can I install this easily (I'm a 57 year old girl) or should I hire a plumber?

your DW will connect the evolution compact pictured in your link
(don't forget the 'knockout' - see the instructions, but no problem)
easily? the one you are buying is HEAVY and you should install/use the new (supplied) flange assembly
go ahead and try - you will NOT increase the cost should you fail and need the plumber
(unless you REALLY mess something up)

That's a good disposal, and it will fit your sink. You can always come here for advice should you encounter any difficulties.

I have installed In-sinkerators for about 50 years but now I prefer Waste King rather than In-Sink-Erator. Waste King has a better warranty and has more stainless steel material for a slightly lesser price. Check out the Waste King Web Site at: [www.anaheimmfg.com]

She HAS to change the mounting flange because her old one uses a completely different design.
