I would like to install a Grundfos UP15 series pump in a horizontal position in my return line. I would like to plumb it like the attached drawing shows. Does anyone see any problems with this installation? (see attached drawing below)

Put the valve between the pump and the cold water connection.

Forgive my knowledge but not a plumber and don't quite follow. Do you mean add 1 more shut off valve on the other side of the pump?

DO NOT have one before the pump, because if you shut that one down partially, it will cause the pump to cavitate and destroy the pump.

Thanks for your response. Just to be sure I can either move the shut off valve from the return line to after the pump like the new drawing, or just eliminate that shut off all together, correct? Also having those check valves in those locations are OK correct?
And again thanks for your time

check valves are OK where you have them.
i would spend a few dollars more and use spring checks rather than swing shecks.
