I have reviewed the commentaries of previous discussions and it appears that those who advocate for repleacement "no matter what" have a dog in the fight...so to speak. If a home owner has had direct ownership for 26 years and not a single incident of problem and is fitted with the copper fittings/crimp and there have been several modifications (by additions to the existing system) is there really an issue.
When I was advised of the class action suit in the mid to late nineties and submitted the information requested, I was further advised that I did not qualify. That the product that I possessed was not inclusive.
Where do I stand with this at a time when I am ready to place my home on the market?

The only problems I've ran into are the plastic fittings with aluminum rings. I'd much rather have a home plumbed with poly and copper fittings and rings than CPVC. Some home inspectors and realtors try to make an issue with that pipe, but if you've had no problems I wouldn't worry about it.

With what you've described I'd probably only be concerned if there was high concentration of chlorine in the water or acid water might be doing damage to the copper fittings. With aluminum rings instead of copper rings I'd also be nervous.
I personally used some p.b. pipe in my own home about 27 years ago without issues at any time.

The lawyers ultimate goal is to have a class action lawsuit. If they get a jury to rule in their favor then they have struck a jackpot bigger than the publisher clearing house one. A jury verdict doesn't necessarily tell the truth. It is just a way of reassigning money.
