 to dual flush or not
Author: FritzL (NY)

I would like to replace our 10yo Am Stand toilet. It's been a dog since day one, seldom flushing consistently.
Since my spouse would probably prefer AS, I am looking at one of their dual flush pieces.

3381.216.020 is what Lowes has, though the question is for any push button dual flush toilet.
If I need to (hopefully not) do maintenance on it, is the push button dual flush mechanism a pita to service?

A dual flush toilet will likely involve some proprietary parts vs a traditional toilet which can be serviced by readily available parts from any hardware store or big box.

At my house, I have 3 basic American Standard toilets which are 10 years old and they have always worked great for me.

I wonder if your toilet has something partially clogging the outlet trap. Also, you might want to try a new flapper such as the Fluidmaster 502 which has an easily adjustable flush volume.
