Hi -
I'm trying to adjust the rotational limit stop on a Hansgrohe Shower Faucet - S Pressure Balance Trim with Diverter, I believe - to increase the max temperature of our shower.
I've successfully removed the handle and I can see how I'm supposed to adjust the limit stop: remove the disk, slide the stop out, adjust.
However, I can't seem to remove the metal piece that's above the disk. I've removed the screw, but the metal piece still won't slide off. This is preventing me from adjusting the limit stop since I can't pull it out of the cartridge.
Any idea how this is supposed to come off? From the diagram mentioned below it looks like it should just slide off, but I can't get it to do so - even with gentle pressure pulling with channel locks.
Thanks,
David
Here are the installation instructions. On page 12, step 12, it's the piece just above the arrow by label 4. I just can't get that thing off.

How old is this faucet? It may be corroded/seized. Try some WD-40 or penetrating spray. Try applying light heat. Try tapping it gently with the handle of a screwdriver. Try using a faucet handle puller, which is sold at Home Depot.

No, it's not old: it's a brand-new shower install in a house flip, so the entire shower is maybe a month or two old. The installer just didn't check the water temperature after installing it so the shower runs way too cold.
Do you know if it's supposed to be able to be pulled off? Or unscrewed?
There's a little give to it, but it feels like the give ends purposefully - like there's supposed to be a pin release or something - so I don't want to yank too hard and break the unit. I just can't figure out what the magic trick/release is to remove it.

Google for "88727000 hansgrohe" for a picture of the cartridge. I think it just a tight fit.

I have this same problem, where my plumber set the the temperature way too low. I took off the handle to try to set the rotational limit stop to a hotter temperature-- and it looks like it should be straightforward-- but there is a metal piece that just won't come off. Any luck in figuring out how to remove that gold metal piece off?
I have another identical Hansgrohe brand new set still in the original packaging, and the gold metal piece just slides off with no resistance, so I can't for the life of me figure out why it won't just slide off in the one that's installed in the wall.

*** PROBLEM SOLVED ***
After a couple hours of staring at it, I figured out what's wrong. Am going to describe it here for posterity so other people don't have to go through the same frustration we did.
It's all due to bad design. To get to the rotational stop limiter to adjust the temperature setting, you need to first remove a gold metal piece. The problem is that gold metal piece should indeed slide right off its shaft, but it won't budge.
Turns out it won't budge because the gold metal is really soft and is easily damaged. Normally when you attach the shower handle, you screw in a little screw that wedges against the gold metal piece so that the handle doesn't fall off when you turn on the shower. However, if you or your plumber accidentally screwed it in too tight, the gold metal is so soft that the little screw will actually punch a small dimple through the gold metal piece, which wedges the gold metal piece against the shaft; hence it doesn't slide off easily and is actually nearly impossible to pry off.
To fix it I just got my electric drill and the smallest drill bit I could find and then just (carefully) drilled a hole through the "dimple" defect on the gold metal piece. I was then able to pry off the gold metal piece with some pliers and get to the rotational stop limiter. Luckily I had a spare Hansgrohe set so I just took the new gold metal piece from that set and attached it to the existing one and threw away the destroyed gold metal piece.
Good luck!
