Help to find an offshore replacement valve
Author: 50seven (Non-US)

A client bought this shower tower 5 years ago and the distributor is no longer in business. Mixing valve needs replacement. Any help to locate a replacement valve would be appreciated. Brand is "HALI".

The valve is a common one, Kohler 1000188 Ceramic Valve, Small, Gold. Your local Kohler supplier should have them in stock.

Hudson-reed does a great job on most of their products but goes cheap on anything not visible. We just rebuilt two rain type heads as they were getting clogged even after cleaning with de-lime stuff.

Opened one up and saw the nuts holding the base plate to the spring mount were dissolving. Everything else in the units were either chrome platted or stainless steel, the nuts must have been stamped iron or cheap steel. The rust was floating all over and clogging up the head.

Fixed with some steel wool and new stainless #10 nuts, opened up the next one found same problem. Now keep #10x1/2" stainless screws and nuts as I have found more than one of these on calls.
