 Moen function transfer valve
Author: Pctekk (FL)

I replaced this cartridge yesterday and when the handle is in any position water comes out of the shower head and hand held shower wand at the same time. It worked fine with old valve I replaced it because old valve was sticking and hard to turn.

I removed it and reinstalled 3 times now and get same result. I don't get it. Any ideas?

Maybe you installed a 3 function cartridge instead of a 5 function ?

That's kinda what moen suggests I think as they are sending me a new valve that I believe has 3 ports but my old one has 4 ports as does the one i just installed.

There are 2 variations of this cartridge. 100040 and 163127. I removed and installed the 100040

I'm stumped.
