Hey Guys,
In addition to my other question about what the hell my well filter caught, I also have the following issue.
I recently (a week ago) bought a new shower head because my old one got so rusted up after years.
The new one has better flow, but when turn it all the way up (pull the faucet handle all the way out), I hear this crazy vibrating, machine gun type sound inside the wall (where the pipes are). and my water shuts off completely. It's a very loud sound that you can hear across the house. Almost like a jackhammer!!
I can turn the water right back on if I push the handle in, then pull it back out, but it just happens again. If I don't pull the faucet handle all the way out (i.e. only use about half flow) it doesn't happen and works fine. What's going on here?

You seem to be describing a pressure- balance faucet. The balancing spool may be binding.
