I have a bathtub that has no shower. Some time ago a shower surround was installed and some sort of attachment was attached to the tub faucet that included a hose and shower head, but that rendered the tub useless. I would now like to remove the surround and add the actual shower plumbing. How hard/easy would you rate this project? What resources are out there for "how to" instructions?

The easiest, and least expensive, way would be to use a diverter spout with a connection for an "add on" hand held shower.

That would not normally have a "shower surround".

Hi, my husband added a tub to our bathroom that only had a shower about 14 years ago. The shower space easily accommodated a regular size tub so it turned out nicely. He actually put in a Jacuzzi tub that is shaped exactly like a regular bathtub. It really improved the small bathroom quite a bit. He did it himself and just needed a friend to help him drop the tub in. It has worked great all these years. I bet if you are determined you could make a nice tub/shower combo too.
