Hello. Greetings and Salutations. I'm at my wits end and I'm apprehensive about calling a plumber. Cost and quality of work are a concern.
I have one, only one, shower/tub that never outputs warm or hot water. Every other plumbing fixture outputs warm and hot water. I've replaced the Kohler GP77886 Pressure Balance Valve, TWICE, with no success. Do you have any suggestions? If I call a plumber to my house, what should I expect to pay for the repair (approximation range). Thank You. (Eddie in Tucson, AZ)

silly question... but, is there a limit stop on the valve that can be adjusted?

That would be my first step. If that checks out then remove the cartridge to confirm that hot water is being supplied to the valve.

Yes limit or possibly a pressure balancing spool if it is separate from the cartridge.

Well holland123,
The problem was solved yesterday by the plumber. I think it's what you eluded to. Evidently there is another valve behind the one that I replaced. I saw that particular valve but I had no idea that it could be removed. I learned something new yesterday. Problem solved. I should've replaced both valves not just the one valve in the front. Thank You to everyone who offered advice or even a question or two. PEACE!
