Sand for Pipe Bedding

I need to order sand for laying an underground PVC waste pipe in an outdoor trench. Does it matter which kind of sand I use? Should I order "Dead Sand"? My other choices are "Yellow Sand", "Concrete Sand", "Mason Sand," and "Caribbean White", which looks nice for a backyard beach, and it's expensive so it would be a waste to bury it underground. Dead Sand is the cheapest, so I'm hoping that's the right choice.

Author: packy (MA) the reason for the sand is that they don't want any sharp rocks laying against the plastic pipe. the sharp rock could wear a hole in the pipe. hence, they require fill that has no rocks. this translates to sand. the cheapeast kind you can find, like masonary sand, will be OK.
