My laundry room is right across from the bathroom in my apartment. After I take a shower, the hallway between the two smells awful, like sewage.
I've done the research. This seems to be a common problem that's easy to fix. However, the solutions I've found online don't apply to me, because I don't have a washing machine...and I have no plans to change that, because there's a perfectly good on-site laundry facility here at the apartment complex.
I'm concerned about the possible health and safety issues more than the smell, really.
What can I do on my own to fix this problem?
TL;DR Empty laundry room smells like sewage after showers.

If there is an uncapped drain pipe for a clothes washer, the trap is probably dry and the odor is coming out from the pipe. You need to get a cap or plug to seal the pipe if it's not already sealed.

or simply pour a pint of water down the drain once a month to maintain the trap seal
