So when I turn on the hot water in either of my showers I don't get any water (nothing comes out). But, when I turn it to cold the water starts flowing. All the sinks in the house have hot and cold water. It's only the showers that don't give hot water.
When I turn on the hot water in the bathroom sink and then turn the shower hot water on the water in the sink will stop flowing. If I turn off the shower the water in the sink will continue to not run. Only when I turn it off and then back on will the water start to run in the sink.
What's wrong here?

Your shower is probably having a problem with the pressure balancing and should be replaced, the sinks have water supplies that are supposed to stop the flow if they get an unexpected pressure drop, so the shower problem is probably causing the sink problem. I had a customer with those lines once and they caused nothing but problems when they activated the side sprayer on the kitchen sink as I recall. Start with the shower and go from there.

Thanks KC,
The issue turned out to be a simple washer in one of the hot water valves. We took it out and the showers stared to work again.
