I have a DANZE (Sheridan model) shower faucet. It has a single turn on lever that obviously goes from cold to hot. It is the type of faucet that has a cartridge that fits into the valve assembly.
This faucet was installed about 5 yrs ago. Worked fine. All of a sudden, as I turned on the shower, and moved the handle to the "hot" direction, it suddenly turned off...allowing only a drizzle of water to flow out of the shower head. If I stop it halfway up, it flows normally, but the water does not get hot.
I took the assembly apart and removed the cartridge. I figured it was some type of failure with the cartridge, and after painstakingly searching for a new replacement cartridge, I found one online, ordered it,received it and reinstalled it. However, the water flow is still the same.
If I only turn the handle halfway up, water flow is good. Go just past halfway, and it shuts down to a drizzle. No other problems anywhere else in the house or in my other bathroom.
Suggestions please.

Remove the large trim ring and see if your faucet has a large "nut" next to the cartridge. If so, that is a pressure balancing spool and it is stuck. Contact Danze and they will send you a new one, (they would also have sent a new cartridge if you had contacted them sooner).
