Is there a coupling to join a 4" cast iron pipe with 4" pvc where there is no lateral movement in either pipe?

Obviously this isn't the answer but like a fernco coupling slit down the side so you can just wrap it around both pipes and tighten down the clamps.

BTW: there is no way to "roll" a fernco on this joint...

i a situation where it is impossible to roll the rubber back on itself like rolling up your sleeve, i just use a rubber fernco with no stainless sheild. a little grease and slide the fernco onto the pipe all the way like a slip coupling. "any port in a storm"..

aint gonna happen...

IF the two pipes have the same o.d., then a SMith-Blair, or similar, "wrap around" coupling will work.

Consider cutting 6 inches of the PVC and using 2 couplings rolled back. You will have to shorten the PVC to allow for the fit up inside the couplings usually 1/8" for each coupling, just be sure you cut it a little more than you think you need....maybe 1/16" to allow you to fit the PVC into the opening, then line it up and tighten up the couplings. You could cut in a combination or a wye for a clean out at this time if you wanted.
