Hello folks;
My church has a wall urinal with a leak, they took the P-trap off the urinal at the base and discovered it leaked from the urinal connection itself, the "closet spud" I suppose it is called. I have removed the old spud and can see that the pipe size at the bottom is inch and a quarter, however I do not know the spud size I must order to replace this one. The vitreous china urinal is in good shape, and works great other than this leak. I need to measure to determine what size spud to order but where do I actually measure? Is it the smallest diameter in the opening or the larger lower diameter formed in the china? Once measured how do I translate this information to the spud order page online, as no one in this general area stocks any urinal drain spuds. Any useful information would be appreciated.
thanks
Jeff

The inlet brass spud assembly, using a flushometer is usually 3/4 x 1. However it must be determined if you have a siphin jet or a blowout urinal. The outlet is 2 inches. But I would recommend that you bring the old one when you go looking.
Best Wishes

Do you know the brand and model name of the urinal? Take a photo of it and of the spud when the urinal is not in place. A supply house should be able to help you determine the proper spud for that brand and model of the urinal. Post the photo on this site and maybe one of the guys will recognize what you have. Take photos from front and side views. All the best.

I looked at it closely for a name to begin with, but could not find one. I will take my camera to church tonight and try and get some good clear photos of it. Good idea, thanks.

Yes, I also think that a supply house should be able to help you determine the proper spud for urinal.

The outlet is a 1 1/2" closet spud, and VERY few have a 1 1/4" drain pipe, but if yours does, the spud's outlet can be reduced in size with a reducing slip nut and washer.

Sorry, but I'm getting confused. Is the OP talking about the flushometer spud or the drain spud?
His primary problem is that the supply houses in his area doesn't carry either. But you would think that a helpful counter person could check the catalogs and order the part for him and have it shipped as long as he brings in the part and photos of the urinal.
