Hi. We have a Gerber toilet at an extremely remote locations. Model # inside tank is K Jun1987.
It needs to be replaced, but we neglected to measure the rough opening (wall-to-bolts) dimension, before leaving.
Please help by advising the rough opening for this model, so we don't buy the wrong replacement toilet, prior to driving into the wilderness.
thank you!

that number just tells us when it was made, but it is probably a standard 12" rough unit.

this doesn't help but thought i remembered the older gerber used to sell you a standard bowl which took a standard tank for a 12 inch rough. for a 10 inch the sold you a thinner tank (front to back) and for a 14 inch they sold you a thicker tank. only way to tell for sure is to measure from the finish wall to the bolts in the floor.
anyway, can anyone confirm the different size tanks and was that gerber?

That is how many companies now produce 10 and 14 inch toilets, rather than tool up for different bowls with the same tank.

it is a heck of a lot easier to make a tank than a bowl.

Exaactly, but it doesn't help if you have a small room.

Does anyone make a "true" 14 rough in toilet? I have an a/s cadet with the thick tank. it works fine but the bathroom is small, not much legroom.
