 Flow Check Valve Adjustment
Author: gcsmial (PA)

I added a 3rd zone with circulating pump to 2 zone system. I had rooms with 8 foot ceilings and one great room with 30 foot ceiling on the same zone resulting in poor heat in the 30' room. I separated out the 30 foot room baseboard radiators into a separate 3rd zone. In installing I opened the check valves throwing off the balance and now get no heat in some zones. Have Taco 3/4" threaded adjustable valves on each zone.
Is there some way to properly set the flow check valves?
Can turning them fully clockwise turn them off?
Why is opening the the new valve fully preventing heat from circulating through the other zones?

Usually it is because you made an improper connection to the system.

the heat would actually work better with the flow check open. less resistance..
