Water coming out handle not spout or shower
Author: bottomsup6 (OH) As strange as this may sound, I have purchased a tub/shower Moen INS2151C valve and the spout sends water as it should. Here is the freaky thing, when I pull up the shower divert water comes out the handle??? Very strange... Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

Author: srloren (CA) Valve and or cartridge installed incorrectly. Packy asks a valid question. Start there by removing the face plate and check with a mirror to see the install up arrow location. You will need a very small round inspection mirror and a flash light and turn any lights off in the room for better visability. Edited 1 times.

Author: KCRoto (MO) It sounds like the cartridge is defective and the back pressure from the diverter being engaged is being forced out through a defect.

Author: hj (AZ) IF "water is going to come out of the handle", it will do it regardless of what you do with the diverter, so something is wrong with your description of the problem. The valve may have been installed sideways.
