Shower does not drain properly sometimes
Author: sharonalloway (CA)

I had my bathtub changed into a tiled shower. I did not have any drain problems with the bathtub. Now, when I turn on the water, I end up standing in an inch of water. If I plunge it a couple of times, the water disappears and drains perfectly for the rest of my shower. The next day, it won't drain again until plunged. My contractor snaked it from the roof and the shower drain, but it still doesn't work properly. I wouldn't think it could be a clog since it will drain fine after being plunged . . . until the next day. What could the problem be?

It sounds like the drain line isn't venting properly. What kind of foundation do you have?

It might be double trapped. Can you see any of the piping under the shower ?

No, I can't see the pipes. The project was done while I was away and it is a slab foundation.

have the 'contractor' fix it

whine, bitch, and moan LOUD and LONG to the appropriate agencies

assuming you had a building permit and it was inspected
