Water spouting out from behind cold water knob
Author: rush_2929 (SC)

I went to turn off the hot water in my bathtub because I saw that it was leaking. So I turned it off. Then the cold water was still leaking and I turned the knob to turn that off. All of a sudden water came shooting out from behind the knob. Tried to press on it and turn it off but no go. I turned the water off coming in the house for now. Something is obviously broken, but i'm not that experienced with plumbing enough to know for sure. I took the knobs you turn, off completely and there is just the white thing they were covering. What do you all think is happening with it and is this a issue I can fix on my own?

I would just replace the faucet. It's about a 5 minute job if there's an access panel. A tub faucet for a mobile home usually cost less than $30.

Yeah, I can see how quick it would be to replace it when I was taking the hoses off. For me there are just the three hoses
then you just pull the faucet off the wall. Then either replace the one side that's not working or just get a new one and hook everything back up. Lol the thing is though, I lost a hose under the house and I have to go under there and feed it back up. Or I could just call a plumber (hope they don't charge me and arm and a leg) have them do everything. Because the access panel is the wall vent whole and it's like a 5 x 10 inch whole and one hose is hard to get to and it's on super tight. I can barely fit one are in there to get the two hoses closest to me (hot water and shower head).
