DWV on pump
Author: gmum (IL) I used dwv fittings when installing a sump pump.... im just now learning the difference between the two fittings. Is it wrong that used the dwv fittings on the pump discharge?

Author: packy (MA) i can't tell you how many sump pumps i have installed (including my own). i have never used anything but DWV fittings. heck, some of them even have that black flexable thin hose called a 'sump pump discharge kit'..

Author: gmum (IL) yes I forgot about those flex lines. My concern was that I read dwv could "blow out" with pressure situations. Figured the pump was pretty violent pressure. Thanks for clarifying. on the other side of the coin, I see someone used pressure fittings on my bathroom sink drain.... that surely isn't good I am assuming. Edited 1 times.

Author: m & m (MD) A sump pump is open discharge and does not develop much pressure. I only ever use drainage fittings on sump pump piping.
