Please check my plumbing before we pour the slab, Thanks
Author: upnorthmuskieman (WI)

I'm just an old man who needs some advice on my attempt to plumb a new bathroom and utility room for an addition I'm going to build, If I stay healthy. I moved here last year because my lovely wife said we need to retire on our 5 aches in the woods. Where we have an unfinished cottage that we put up in 2001. It has the bare necessities in three rooms 764 sq.ft.So I need to know if I did the plumbing right since I just a DIY guy out of necessity. The link below should take you to my pictures with lables.

Don't pour the slab yet. Washer drain needs a vent, shower drain needs a trap and vent. You did well with the long sweep and combinations.

The cleanout should be 4" (IPC 708.7). The shower has an S trap and not vented properly. The tub trap needs a vent. The tub trap and trap arm needs to be 2"(all in ground piping 2" minimum).

Steve there is a 4" clean out on the main drain you can't see on the picture. This is just a branch off of that main. The reason I'm asking for help because here we don't need an inspection on a addition and want to make sure it works. Is the vent to far away from the shower drain which is 18" from the wall, I could put the vent straight over to the wall and then extend the kitchen drain to meet it.I'll have to add a vent some how to the tub and change it to 2" pipe. I was going to use 2" but, only had a 1 1/2". And it's a long drive to town. Thanks !

i think north carolina is not seeing you set up as i am seen it ??
washer drain will be vented above the floor with a sanitary tee.
the tub does need to be increased to 2 inch with a "Y" near the outlet of the trap as a vent.
overall, it's not great but it will function.

And the shower/floor drain is an "S" trap.

The purpose of a vent is to protect the trap from siphoning. I am not familiar with your code but the closer your vent is to your trap arm the better. In UPC code a trap arm can only be a certain length depending on size of pipe. Be sure to verify that each fixture is capable of a trap seal before you pour your concrete. Think in terms of future snaking and maintenance problems. All the best.

Your right about that washer drain,it will be tied into the vent with a trap. I think I know what you mean about the "Y" so then can I run it back to the washer vent?
