Hot water to shower diminishes after 10 minutes
Author: J1000 (MO)

We are in the process of having our master bath renovated. Dual shower heads, also a diverter was installed. Using our showers in our lower level while renovation taking place. We noticed after showering for about 10 minutes the water slowly gets colder. (we have two bathrooms in our lower level, both having the identical problem.) We haven't talked to our contractor (he is doing all the work) yet, but we are concerned could the lines be crossed during the installation? Only backer board is up and tile hasn't been installed. Want to make sure their isn't a problem before the tile is installed. Faucets to sinks in the bathrooms seem to be fine. Also my dishwasher seems to be fine with the hot water. Our home is 12 years old. We are on city water.

If the problem started during renovation, you are probably having crossover at the new shower valve. Ask the contractor to install the cartridge in the valve and see if the problem stops.

Are you referring to the valve in the new shower? Or replacing valves in the lower showers.

We also have a recirculating system in our home.

I was referring to the new shower valves. The same effect can happen when a check valve goes bad in a recirculation system.
