I have a new 3/4 pump with a 24 gallon water tank. I have a 50/30 pressure switch set at 50/36. Water tank psi 32lb. I have a water softener. When I take a 10 min. shower the water pressure will slowly continue to drop to 22 psi and stay steady. What can I do to get more pressure for a longer period of time. Seems to me that my pump cannot keep up with the water demands of the shower. This is the only fixture running in the house while this is happening.

I assume the pump is coming on when the pressure drops to 36 psi ? And the pressure continues to drop as the pump is running ? The pump is undersized. You'll need to know the well depth, static water level, GPM of the well, etc to properly size the pump.

What kind of pump? Jet? Submersible?

It sounds to me like a bad pressure switch. If you have a 30/50 and are only maintaining 32 static. something is off.

Yes the pump comes when the pressure switch cuts on at 34lb. Just if I continue to use the water the pressure will slowly drop until 20psi and stay steady. Does not run out of water just lower pressure. Not unbearable just annoying. I think my old pump was a 1hp. Suspected that it was the pump. Thanks for the input.

Your jet assembly (nozzle, venturi) may be worn. As the water level in the well drops as you use water, the pump labors to keep up with demand if the the tolerances of both are off.
