I am at a loss, I have search all manufactures and every marking I can find on the valve and not results :-(
I dont want to have to rip out the whole item in the wall

Two things that could help us is a picture of the underside of the cartridge(o-ring seal end) and a picture of the valve housing. If the tub spout is the same brand, that's kind of unique looking.
Whitehaus has spout that looks similar. Does your spout 45* at the end or 90*? -

La Toscana 81CR697 has the curved handle and large flat escutcheon(but the angled spout). You might contact La Toscana with the pictures and see if it's made by them. Any chance the sink faucet is from the same collection as the tub/shower?

It has the appearance of an Chinese or Japanese Design. Let us know if you find out what brand it is.

I think it's a Riobel brand valve & cartridge. And, the screws on either side of the shower valve are shut-offs - handy 'cause you don't have to go without water to the entire house if you want to replace the shower cartridge.
