yeah, it sounds weird to me to. Came home to ants, figured they were looking for the
water i then found under the kitchen sink. Not a good start to a friday. Diagnosed the
water to when the dishwasher runs.
I removed and cleaned the hose that runs from airgap to disposalcleaned the hoses out,
ran a quick cycle, and it seems now that water is trickling down the threads of the air gap
under the sink. I tried tightening the nut from underneath, but no help...so is this 'get a
new air gap', or is there something i haven't thought to try yet? Oh, and I am getting a little
bit of water out the top too, if that matters. I'm sure it's related, tho usually when I'm
sure, i'm wrong.

check your local code. if an air gap is not required, just eliminate it.
take the discharge hose from the DW and tie it directly into the disposer nipple. make sure to tie the hose up as high as you can (high loop). you might need a special connector which is available everywhere.
you can get a lotion dispenser to install in that hole in the sink.
as restrictive as MA codes are, we don't require and air gap. as far as i know, we have not had an outbreak of bubonic plague because of this.

thanks. it's probably easier for me just to find someone to replace the airgap...
just in case it's more than just the airgap...
