our water pressure is acting weird .. one minute its strong and then next minute there is hardly nothing . We live in a small town and hubby went up and asked the city guy if they were messing with the water and he said no. Is there anything we can do ? Thanks

ask again at the town public works dept.
unless you have a toilet that has water leaking by so it refills every few minutes, nothing can cause that.
check your water meter for flow with nothing running.

It is probably a flow restriction in the line, such as an almost clogged pressure reducing valve that is limiting your volume. I would get a plumber to take a look because troubleshooting is the hardest part in this situation. It is possible that it actually is a pressure issue in the city main, but highly unlikely.

a defective pressure regulating valve would do exactly what you are describing, as would a plugged up softerner or filter.
