 Toilet

When i flush my toilet, it will fill the bowl but not go down very well! But if i pour a little water from a bucket at the same time it flushes fine. I have raised the water level, no help and made sure flapper is correct. This is a septic and drain field system. Have you ever heard of this?

It may be a clogged toilet, the lateral field could be saturated and not taking water, the septic can be full, the main sewer line to the septic can be blocked.. In short, yes, but determining which is slightly more tricky. I would auger the stool first to make sure it is clear before going any further. --sorry, misread the op's text, thought they said the bucket didn't help.

mineral deposits in the jets and trap can cause these symptoms too. A new toilet may be in order.

I see it often on low end toilets (non siphon jet) and toilets that need to be replaced due to calcification.

Not an expert...

When I posted a similar question about 6 months ago, it became clear that a new toilet was required. Based on recommendations here, I installed a Toto. Awesome toilet, thanks to the experts here.

I found the lower power flush port was plugged shut! I used a small screwdriver to clean it out, and also some C L R cleaner, so it was like a calcium build up! I THANK THE LORD! And all of you for your help.

Toilets, like all other modern conveniences, require periodic maintenance.
