 3 way diverter question
Author: tropicden (MO)

I have a Delta T11900 3 way rough in valve. I want to run a regular position hand held shower and an overhead rain water shower head. I want to be able to run the regular hand held shower head alone, OR the over head shower alone OR both together. I have a Delta 3 port, 6 way diverter valve kit. I wanted to know if I cap off port #3 since I only have 2 showers off the rough in valve and if the other 3 setting on the diverter will be "dead" settings.
Thanks

IT is NEVER a good idea to "cap off" a port and most directions will tell you not to do it. You connect that port to one of the others with a tee.

I have a similar setup and the valve says that you can't cap off one side. Run 2 lines to your rainfall head. If there is a removable flow restrictor, you can have a real shower and not a drizzle.
