Hi recently bought a shower valve from china.. and when i got it i realized the valve threads are the british bsp style thread.. the standard npt thread still works but it bottoms out because the valve is not designed to take a tapered thread. i was wondering if it would be ok to solder the male brass npt fitting into the female bsp brass valve fittings??
i would of course take the valve apart and remove all rubber... i have already tried teflon tape and pro dope.. and i know i can order adapters but i dont have the time to wait for them to come in.
Thanks for your help

sure you can. i would use 50/50 solder. shower valves are exempt from the new no-lead laws.

That is something I commonly do when I am supplied with a valve that has female threads.
